What other services charge
In our September 2026 review of annual-report services that offer Pennsylvania filings, most charged between $49 and $149 plus the state fee, some sold it only inside a yearly subscription, and a few advertised fees or penalties that Pennsylvania does not have. The Pennsylvania Department of State has published scam alerts about companies that overcharge, misstate fees, deadlines or penalties, or fail to mention that owners can file directly.
How to avoid overpaying
- The state fee is $7 (or $0). Anything else is a service fee — make sure it is shown separately.
- There is no Pennsylvania late fee. A “state late fee” on an invoice is a red flag.
- You can always file directly at file.dos.pa.gov.
- Reinstatement fees ($35 online, $40 paper, plus $15 per missed report) apply only after an entity has been administratively dissolved — not to an ordinary late filing.
